What do you think is the most extreme sports out there. I love living life on the edge and want to push myself the extremities. Any recommendations? I ve tried base jumping which was pretty mad!

Kite boarding is pretty intense - or you could try skydiving without a backpack a la Keanu in Pointbreak. You might want to take out some serious extra extra extreme insurance for that one matey plum ;)

Reckon someone should have included Horse Eventing! Nothing like the feeling of being sat on 3/4 of a ton of muscle, in full on gallop heading towards a 5ft jump made from solid telegraph poles with a drop into 3 ft of water the other side... then do that 20 + more times over varying other obstacles of an equally unforgiving construction till you reach the end of the course.
You sure know your alive! Rating :

Bodyboarding with out a doubt. Pushing boundries with wave riding and exploration. Can ride prone, drop knee or stand up.
Bodyboarders were first to ride waves such as; Chopes Ours Aileens Cyclops |

Respect to surfers on any board (except surf skis of course - that's just cheating), but you can't claim lying down on a foam mat is more extreme than air-dropping into an 8' barrel on a proper surfboard.
Tow-in surfing on huge waves (like Cortez Bank, or the sea mounts off Western Australia) would surely get a mention in the extreme-stakes, even if it's not 'pure' surfing. |

I'll second that for Kayaking. sitting above a big grade 5 rapid will set your adrenaline on fire as it courses through your body.

Solo free climbing, or Everest. The odds are one in ten die.
or ski down Everest one in two. |

Free soloing, or climbing without gear, ropes or partner, is pretty hardcore.
Fair enough, most climbers who free solo will have checked out the route beforehand, but once you set off, you're either going to top out, or die. On the other hand, this is usually a very calm, controlled undertaking. No-one in their right mind would set off solo up a climb if they though there was a fair chance they'd come off, so the key is getting into a mind state of intense focus and confidence. As one well known climber said, 'It's not about adrenaline, adrenaline usually means something's gone wrong' |

Flysuits are pretty much in fashion these days... skiing steep slopes with hundreds of meters of exposure below - you fall, you die... those two come to mind right now. But any action sport can be extreme... if you do it right!

Depends what you want from an extreme sport. Lots of quick, controlled thrill stuff out there. For real slow, complicated mind games, and the certainty that nobody is coming to get you if it goes pear-shaped, I recommend cave diving. A couple of hours deep into a mountainside underwater knowing that your nearest fresh air is the same couple of hours away gets the hairs on the back of your neck going. Alternatively try home-brewed mixed gas deep diving on some nice wreck. In terms of thrill for your buck, you can't beat that sort of stuff. Quick thrills, throw yourself out of or off something!! Alternatively, cheat on your wife .....
