Celtic and rangers will never get into the epl. end of story. the likes of hull, wigan, stoke, sunderland, west ham etc would never vote to allow them in as it would mean that two of the smaller teams would lose their place and therefore the money that goes along with it, it would be like turkeys voting for christmas. these days football is more business than sport so if sky decide they want celtic and rangers then it happens, but not in the epl. if there was a large enough incentive for the bigger clubs in england ie more money then they would vote not to allow the old firm into the epl, but to have a whole new league set up that would include an invited old firm. this question is for english fans only, who would you rather see, liverpool, chelsea, arsena or manu v celtic or watch thos clubs play hull or wigan or bolton? having the old firm would be a financial decision based on economic and not sporting reason. the problem would then be europe and who would qualify for the champions league and europa cup. as a side issue, celtic have the 8th highest matchday gate turnover in the world. this came from the guardian or the independent or similar. check the home attendances in the sports sections. the draw of these two teams will soon be too great for sky to ignore, especially in the current economic situation. just as a thought, the current league set up could remain the same with another higher league including the old firm, same with the epl, but the clubs in the higher league would have their reserves playing in the epl and spl. anyway just a thought, but money talks and sky money talks very loudly.
