More foreign investment?     21-Jun-07 09:57 AM
This argument has been raised a number of times on these boards over the past 12 months. Is foreign investment bad for football in this country? And if so why?

With news that former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's £80m+ bid for Manchester City has been accepted now might be a great opportunity to re-open the debate.

£80m is certainly a massive boost for the likes of Manchester City. That kind of cash could tempt likes of Sven Goran Eriksson to the club and who ever gets hired as manager will certainly have some spending money. However, what does it mean for English football? Is the impact of such foreign investment positive or negative? Does it matter who owns the club?
