So, it’s all over for England until the World Cup qualifiers next year. It’s also all over for Steve McClaren. The FA must now appoint a replacement but who should be selected?

Should they be looking to replace McClaren with another English manager or should one of the many foreigners take the helm? Current names on the list seem to include Sam Allardyce, Jose Mourinho, Martin O'Neill, Guus Hiddink Stewart Pearce, Alan Shearer or even some kind of combination of two of them. Martin Jol has even been mentioned. Who should be appointed to lead England to the 2010 World Cup qualifiers?

And how much responsibility should the FA be taking? There's a whole summer to work on restructuring. What should be done to make English football better?
