Laurence Fox reported by Big Brother star to police over ‘upskirting’ picture

Laurence Fox has been reported to police after he posted an “upskirting” image of a female TV personality online.

Actor-turned-politician Fox, 45, shared a compromising paparazzi photograph of former Big Brother star Narinder Kaur without underwear in the back of a vehicle on X, formerly Twitter.

Upskirting was made a specific criminal offence in England and Wales in 2019.

The distressed 51-year-old TV presenter confirmed she had reported it to the Metropolitan Police and said: “It’s actually making me cry.”

A police spokesman told the Standard: “We have been made aware of a post on social media regarding an upskirting offence and we are currently working to establish the circumstances.”

Fox was criticised by other users on X who said his actions were “low, even for him”.

But the Reclaim Party founder refused to back down on his decision to publish the image on the same platform, replying: “I don’t [sic] take the photo and I didn’t forget to put my pants on. Jog on.”

Fox suggested he had shared the unsolicited picture for supposed hypocrisy after Ms Kaur mocked right-wing commentator Leilani Dowding "for her page three days".

Kaur took to X on Thursday to say: “This is now a police matter.”

She added: “I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone supporting me and trying to make me feel better.

“It’s actually making me cry.

“Thank you to all you lovely people, you will never know how much you are helping me pick myself back up.”

According to reports, the photo – taken without her consent - was removed from picture sites after it became illegal to share such images.

Speaking to the Mirror, a friend of hers said: “The fact that a standing politician like Laurence Fox would stoop to such lows is completely disgusting.”

Ms Kaur, 51, regularly appears as a guest on programmes including Good Morning Britain, after rising to fame on Big Brother series two, where she came in ninth place.

Earlier this month, Fox had been ordered to pay a total of £180,000 in damages to two people he referred to as paedophiles on social media after losing a High Court libelbattle.

He was successfully sued by former Stonewall trustee Simon Blake and drag artist Crystal over a row on Twitter.

Fox called Mr Blake and the former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant, whose real name is Colin Seymour, “paedophiles” in an exchange about a decision by Sainsbury’s to mark Black History Month in October 2020.
